You should perform Free shows - for money!
Yes, doing free shows can make you a lot of money!
Why not perform some free shows at the local fund raiser, or charitable event. Heres why you should do these free shows:
1) You know that there is going to be lots of media and press, so you will get free advertising, that you would normally have to pay for. This type of advertising CANNOT BE BOUGHT anywhere for any price.
2) If you are selective, and pick the charitable events where you know there will be celebrities, then you, in your Magician get-up, will be sure and pose beside, and get photographs beside these famous celebrities.
Can you imagine showing a potential client thinking of booking your show, a photograph of YOU beside Brittany Spears? or beside Jerry Lewis? This instantly puts you into first class celebrity status! You will stand out much more that the Magician that doesnt have these kinds of publicly photos.
3) You will be in a room with thousands of people - each of which, may at some time, need a Magician. Would a client rather book an unknown Magician from a phone book? or would they rather pick a great Magician that the have already seen previously? For sure, they would choose you over someone that they have not ever met.
4) You are guaranteed to get letters of recommendation! Just ask, and your promo and media kits will eventually be full of recommendations and testimonial letters from huge organizations like "the Cripple Children Society, Hospital for Sick Children, and the Cancer Society". Large corporations and television love to hire people who participate in these types of events. It looks good on their company image also.
5) You will be a Star!,
- Youll mix and mingle with celebrities
- Youll be testing out your new stunts to see how they work
- Youll be polishing your act
- Youll adding to your promo kit, and
- Youll be pigging out on the gala food buffets!
You will also be in the news, on television, and mingle with some top name celebrities. Have your friend have their camera ready. Have someone take many pictures. As an invited guest, you will be treated as royalty where every you go.
The best publicly photos you can take are the ones beside famous celebrities. In the industry, this is called piggy backing.
